Stepping out of your comfort zone.

What is keeping you stuck?

For me, patterns and old beliefs have held me back from growing and becoming the best version of myself.

Through labeling where the beliefs came from, I’ve been able to find more healing and honesty within.

I’ve found that when I tend to do things outside of my comfort zone I get closer to the person I want to be.

Only then am I able to take a step back from what society wants for me, and channel my core self.

When stepping outside of my comfort zone I go on adventures, try new things, get lost, and do things that scare me.

Those activities make me feel ALIVE.

They make me feel FREE.

I feel closer to me than I’ve ever felt before.

When I lean into being the creative, adventurous human that I am, I feel inner peace and deep acceptance for myself.

At the end of the day, the only person who can truly judge us, is us.

No-one else should ever have the permission to say how you should feel/look/act or be.

You have that power, and it’s yours to take back.

Step outside your comfort zone today and do something that terrifies you.

You might just find that the activity you do will save you in the end, or bring you closer to honesty and inner wisdom.

Here’s a list of some things I’ve done in the past.

  1. Bouldering
  2. Skinny Dipping
  3. Being an art model for a college figure drawing class
  4. Moving across the country without knowing anyone
  5. Roadtripping solo across America multiple times
  6. Complimenting a stranger (I have social anxiety so this one is hard)
  7. Working at a haunted house
  8. Singing at an open mic night
  9. Attending a collage night with artists and other creative people
  10. Taking myself out on a date (I’m a big fan of coffee & a bookstore)

All of these things were outside of my comfort zone in the start and they all had profound impacts on my life in many ways.

If you try something new and it doesn’t workout, then it’s a great story for the future.

You can start small and work your way up to the scarier stuff, or you can stay complacent and comfortable.

You have the power in you to grow, and change, and challenge your way of life.

Only you can make that decision for yourself.

XOXO
